Ahoy there. It is Jessie your usually anonymous blog babe coming out of her shell to make a vast pronouncement seemingly dog and cat unrelated. World Cup mania has asserted itself with the help of a psychic squid. I am madly in love with Paul The Oracle Octopus. Have you been following his much ballyhooed...how to spell ballyhoo? Hmmm, Bally WHO? Have you been following his antics at the World Cup? ...uh no he is not in the stands with a vuvuzela. Paul is ensconced in an aquarium in Germany where he spends his days predicting the outcomes of various matches at the World Cup.
He is smooth and oh so photogenic. Pauls charisma inspired me to do some digging and I discovered that there is a whole world devoted entirely to octopus psychology....(it is a fascinating study that includes a look at a touchy-feelie octopus named Leisure Suit Larry and a shy reclusive gal named after Emily Dickinson.) Comedy aside these creatures are a perfect example of astonishing yet wholly under-valued intelligence and sentience.
As for Paul it is hard to figure what is more hilarious....his status as a soothsaying cephalopod OR that so many humans are curiously camped outside of his aquarium frantically waiting to see what he will do next. Paul's World Cup predictions have so far been 100% accurate which is probably why Germany is flipping out over his latest pronouncement.
