Shelter Volunteers

Guam Animals In Need would be nothing without the tireless work of its volunteers. With budget cuts a part of our every day world and a huge increase in the number of animals coming into the shelter we need your help!! To make the most of the time the volunteers spend helping out at the shelter, we are implementing a couple of handy processes. A volunteer training day is in the works so folks can feel comfortable walking right in and getting to work.

This calendar will be a way for volunteers to make the most impact and divide time more efficiently. If you are able to commit to one day a week or an afternoon every two weeks please respond with the day & time. The shelter is open for volunteers from 8am until 5pm so working a morning would be from 8am until roughly 1230 and an afternoon shift from 1230 until 5pm. If you can not commit for the whole time but for the majority that will work as well. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to sign up that can help out on a consistent basis. Duties will be whatever you would like to do, from meet and greet with visitors, walking the dogs, laundry, cleaning, feeding, and so on.

We are not saying these are the only folks we need....by no means :) We are simply looking for individuals that can be lead volunteers for their selected time period, someone the shelter workers can depend on when they are too busy for the basics.

Also any other ideas you can come up with to make things easier are welcome. Some ideas we are hoping to get moving in the next couple weeks are: shelter guidelines/volunteer handbook, dry erase board with daily chores listed and a space to check them off, volunteer training day (already mentioned), and training videos for daily chores to be kept in the education room.
